Dancing on the beach

- dancing edinburgh

We were at my friend J’s flat in Leith for some blues dance practice but then all went to a beach hidden behind an industrial estate nearby. J brought a battery powered amplifier for music, and we danced on the beach under a full moon and the late sunset. We had wine and threw pistachio shells into a fire made from driftwood and some smelly, chemically treated planks.

My blues-curious friend A who I had brought was delighted this was happening and so was I. She now thinks I’m the coolest person ever. And when we ran out of steam we just sat around the fire, chatting, each of the girls cuddling up with a boy in a blanket.
