The Germans are coming!

I was so chuffed that my oldest best friends from school came to visit me in Scotland! We spent quite a lot of time shopping for ‘exotic’ British toys for their kids, but we also got a lot of sight-seeing, pub-crawling, and Skat-playing done. So much fun.
My highlight was the third day, when we were done shopping and went to Roslin Glen for a nice walk along the river North Esk in the sun. My friends hadn’t expected such nice weather, and Scotland is beautiful in the sun.
In the evening we had the ultimate Scottish experience in the Captain’s Bar, a tiny pub, where some local musicians had a folk music session. It was so small that we were almost sitting on the musicians’ laps, and we got the most of it. At some point the whole pub was singing Scotland’s inofficial national anthem, “Will Ye Go Lassie Go”.
