One-Day-One-Job Challenge - Day 3
- career
On day three of my job hunting challenge I applied for the position as
Affordable Warmth Advisor
for the organisation that I am currently volunteering for. It seems to me that the job entails a lot of what I am already doing for free, advising people in their homes on how to heat efficiently and how to save money on their energy bills. That and a bit more. I do like the advising aspect and the organisation, which is an environmental charity that gives advice on recycling, waste reduction, energy efficiency, etc. to other organisations and companies, and runs advice centres and services for the public.
So, here come the usual questions.
Perks:
- It’s a good organisation.
- It’s about giving advice and helping people directly.
Perils:
- It’s in Leith - 40 min to cycle each way.
- I might be overqualified.
- The kind of advice is not really scientific, so it’s more like a first step towards scientific advising which I would actually like to do.
