C2C 1st section St Bees to Cleator

The three of us finished the first part of the Coast-to-coast path today, approximately 20 km, first along the English west coast and then turning east, towards the Lake District. Our hotel for tonight is a little run-down, and the owner made sure to tell us how to use the shower so that we won’t flood the lower floor. It’s obvious that that has happened before. But it’s a charming place nonetheless, and we’re provided with cookies and chocolate next to the usual coffee and tea in the room.
